What truly makes this book stand out is its remarkable cast of unique and relatable characters. Uriel starts out as a soldier who follows orders without question, and must face the ethical implications of his actions as the book progresses. He is a character that readers will learn from and relate to, as his growing conscious causes him to rethink his actions and position in the Founder’s Elite. By the end, although the Founder’s Elite emerges victorious, they are left with the reality that war demands sacrifice, setting the stage for future conflicts and growth in the saga.
